Our focus at Preferred Women’s Healthcare is to make your prenatal care, labor, delivery and postpartum experience as pleasant and fulfilling as possible.

We provide excellent care for all of your pregnancy needs including twin and high risk pregnancies.

DELIVERY AND ON-CALL

It is impossible for our doctors to be on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year so our physicians routinely rotate call coverage after hours, weekends, holidays, and during vacations.

In addition, our Nurse Practitioners is an integrated part of your care team, and is available to assist you during your pregnancy, providing information, options and support to you and your physician to promote a safe, satisfying and meaningful pregnancy and birth.

FEES

Our obstetrical fee (often referred to as our “global charge”) covers the physician services normally included in a standard vaginal delivery or cesarean section. In addition, our physicians also perform the circumcision if you have a boy and indicate that you wish him circumcised.

If you do not have coverage for circumcision, the fee for the circumcision is also due by your 7th month of pregnancy.

Depending on your medical conditions and requests, additional services may be required and billed during your pregnancy and delivery. In addition to our obstetrician’s bill, you may also receive bills from the laboratory, hospital, anesthesiologist, radiologist and pediatrician.

INSURANCE

As a courtesy to you, our office contacts your insurance company and obtains an estimate of your benefits. Our OB Coordinator will sit down and go over this information with you on your first Obstetrical Visit.

Please remember that the information she provides you is an estimate only, based on proposed services and information supplied by your insurance carrier. You need to notify our business office immediately should you have any changes in insurance coverage during your pregnancy.

Your estimated patient balance is due in full by your 28th week of pregnancy. We provide you with the necessary information and schedule to enable you to have your global prepayments paid by this time.

If you do not have insurance, you will be asked to speak with our business office when scheduling. We require half of the fee for total care at your initial visit and the balance to be paid prior to delivery.
